Over 20 years of experience ( TRL, TRRL, AA Foundation etc) in road surface performance measurement and analysis, hands-on experience of road surface testing (SCRIM and skid car [Skidman/ Brakesafe /VC3000 DAQ]), aggregate testing.. Thermal imaging of bituminous material during construction.
PhD level research into dry road friction of negative textured road surfaces, Thermal and high speed imaging of emergency braking manoeuvres ( tyre / road interface). Statistical analysis of deceleration time series data.
Commercial experience of technical sales specification (specialist road surface treatments and refractory aggregates / calcined bauxite) to local authorities, consulting engineers.
Broad portfolio of experience in presenting to local, national and international audiences on state of the art research. Audiences include ASCE, SURF2008, SURF2005, Tire Technology Expo ( several years), CIHT, IHIE, SCI, IPENZ, Thames Valley Police, ITAI....
